Invite your team and manage access

Let people take responsibility for their work without giving everyone the same settings and controls.

Practical guidance for getting work done

Invite people into the client’s workspace so they can connect their own tools, review work and take responsibility for decisions. Start with the access they need for their part of the work.

Invite a person

Where to goPeople → Invite Person
  1. Check the workspace

Look at the workspace name at the top left. A client invitation should go to that client’s workspace.

  2. Enter their details and choose a role

Add their name and email. Choose Operator for someone carrying out or reviewing work, or Admin for someone helping manage the workspace. You need permission to invite people.

  3. Send the invitation

Review the email carefully before submitting the form. The person receives an email invitation with a secure sign-in link. Ask them to open it using the address you invited.

  4. Help them get ready

Send them the joining your team guide. Each person connects their own business accounts. Connecting yours does not connect theirs.

These are the standard starting roles. An Owner can customise permissions, so an individual person’s access may differ.

Access and acting for someone are different

An Admin’s management access does not automatically mean they can use every person’s business accounts. The Owner also controls who a person may act on behalf of: themselves, selected people or everyone in the workspace. Owners can act for workspace members.

For a consultant, this matters when you build work using a client’s connections. Agree whose accounts the work should use and have the Owner set the appropriate work scope.
