Whose accounts do Agents use?
Keep each person’s business identity attached to the work carried out on their behalf.
Two people can connect the same business app and still give an Agent different access. What matters is whose account the work uses, what that account can access and what the integration supports.
A simple example
Sarah is a sales representative and James is her manager. Both connect HubSpot and Google Drive to Sordit using their own accounts.
| Business information | Sarah’s account | James’s account |
|---|---|---|
| HubSpot contacts | Contacts assigned to Sarah | The team’s contacts |
| Sales forecast in Google Drive | View only | Edit access |
| A useful Agent Task | Summarise Sarah’s contacts and read the forecast | Review the wider pipeline and update the forecast |
An Agent working for Sarah does not gain James’s access just because they share a workspace. The original app’s permissions and the integration govern the actions available.
Three people may be involved in one Job
A consultant may create the Job on the client’s behalf, where the workspace permits it.
The Job’s execution identity determines the authorised business connections used for its work.
The person reviewing a result can be someone else again. Assigning James an approval Task does not, by itself, switch the Agent’s work to James’s accounts.
“Use Sarah’s connected Gmail and HubSpot accounts for the follow-up. Ask James to review the proposed response before it is sent.”
Setting up client work as a consultant
- Ask the client to connect their own accounts
They complete OAuth authorisation or API key setup in Settings → Connections. You do not need to collect their password or 2FA codes.
- Agree whose work you can manage
The workspace Owner controls who you may act for. Have them check your work scope if you cannot create work using the intended person’s identity.
- Check the proposed identity before approval
Name the person and tools in the brief, then review the 2IC proposal. A Job’s execution identity is fixed when created, so do not treat a later reviewer change as an account change.
If an Agent cannot access something
First ask whether the connected person can open that exact file or record in the original tool. Then check the correct account is connected and the required action is supported. If the connection has expired, the account owner may need to reconnect it.
